In the 25 years of its existence, the South African Music Education Trust (SAMET) has reached over 5 000 learners and employed over 150 teachers and 60 personnel through its music centres in community project committees.

Voted “Arts and Culture Education Project of the Year” in 1999 by the Arts and Culture Trust of the President.
In 2004, SAMET’s CEO was voted ‘Arts Administrator of the Year’ by the Arts and Culture Trust.
Many bursaries continue to be awarded to individuals to study music at tertiary institutions both in South Africa and abroad.
